Mission

The Humane Society of Richmond County is a community resource that is dedicated to providing a second chance for animals of our community. We work to find fosters, rescues, and loving forever homes for the animals that go into the shelter. Our efforts include community educational programs, spay & neuter programs to help reduce animal population and strays, and also want to teach the community responsible pet ownership and how to create a loving and safe environment for the animal’s welfare. One of our primary services to these animals includes medical care when needed, often at times no one else will step forward.

You can help support our mission through volunteering, fostering, or donations, or inviting us into your community and schools for educational opportunities.

Our Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is passionately committed to the welfare of animals in our community. We work tirelessly to make positive changes for our animals of our community — but we need help from our community to continue making improvements and meet the increasing needs of our community. We need you.

In the year of 2018 we had over 300 placements with other rescue organizations in our state and adoptions. We spent $20,000 on vetting animals back to health and providing spay and neuters. We are focused on providing more programs to help the community with the general welfare of their animals.

Humane Society of Richmond County is 501c3 non profit organization.
